It looks like it just decided it should do that, like, on it's own. Nobody at Anthropic programmed it, because if they had, they would have programmed it to silently do it in the background, not *use your terminal to do it!!!*
Yeah so I wouldn't like directly blame anthropic, I'd just blame them for making an AI that represents the kid who got stuffed in the locker in highschool.
