@arzachel Hah, well, I don’t know if I’d spend my own money on this book, but I’d be genuinely curious to see just whats in this book.
Unlike .. well, almost everyone, I keep up to date with the latest research on the topic. From the article, it sounds like this guy is just cherry picking data and then taking it on a fantasy of his own biases. This is pretty clear with the usual male-to-female fear mongering he alludes too — a paranoid fantasy with zero statistical backing.
THAT SAID.
1) There is something funny going on, especially in colleges with regards to the number of people who suddenly seem to just magically end up trans. That doesn’t make sense, considering that the research is pointing to neurological development in the womb as the source of someone being transsex. In short, we’ve got people who like “political lesbians” show up as “political trans”. In both cases, neither is the genuine article. This has nothing to do with actual trans people, we’re just along to get dragged through the mud in the far lefts latest way to abuse LGBT people for political troublemaking.
2) The largest study ever conducted about the link between autism and transsexualism doesn’t support what he is saying in the slightest. Its a shame this “meticulously sourced insight” didn’t read the very study he is bringing up. Strange because — oddly enough — its actually linked, and the full study is available on scihub.
>As around 1.1% of the UK population is estimated to be on the autistic spectrum, this result would suggest that somewhere between 3.5.-6.5% of transgender and gender-diverse adults is on the autistic spectrum.
So basically 95% of trans people aren’t autistic anyway. Its an interesting fact that trans people to do to be autistic more often, but his point “the lifestyle and practice of wanting to change your sex is merely a type of aggressive autism with psychiatric co-morbidities such as schizophrenia.” isn’t suggested or supported in any way by that study.
>The study investigates the co-occurrence between gender identity and autism. The team did not investigate if one causes the other
But the author arrives at the conclusion immediately, despite the fact that the vast, vast majority of trans people are not autistic.
3) Its the jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeews!
Anyway, that’s a brief look. This book isn’t shaping up well. But hey, free speech, I say go for it lol.
