There's no "our side" when it comes to Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Romney, McCain and all their associates. These are all part of the same GOP/Democrat cabal screwing the rest of us. The media plays a trick on the general population (yes we're all prisoners of the system) by having them believe there's still an "us" vs "them" team. There isn't. The GOP is every bit as bad as the Democrats, they just disguise it better and have mastered the art of deliberately losing with dignity so that their Democrat Tagteam buddies can shift the goalposts ever more extreme leftward.
