@arzachel I once met Dr Pauling, he took about 5g (5000mg) a day. Of course he didn't get it from the drug store, he got 5kg bottles from the lab supply. He said I don't really measure it, I just take a good teaspoon of it and dissolve it in water and drink it.
He and his wife were quite charming.
