When one of these judges gives a "ridiculous" sentence, they should indict the judge for conspiracy.

In the 70s and 80s, there was a judge named Thomas J. Maloney who accepted bribe money in exchange for giving particularly light sentences to mobsters. The only difference here is that (as far as we know) is no money is changing hands, but these judges are still giving special treatment to certain people.
